Is Chas Dingle leaving Emmerdale?
LONELY and grief-stricken Chas Dingle unknowingly bonded with a dangerous criminal.
Emmerdale fans were left fearing for her life after gangster Harry seemed to dispose of her during last night’s soap instalment.
What happened to Chas Dingle in Emmerdale?
With Super Soap Week well underway on ITV, viewers of the Yorkshire-based drama are expecting at least one death.
But could Chas Dingle be the one to meet a tragic fate this week?
The Woolpack manager was left at the mercy of Harry (portrayed by Robert Beck) during Wednesday’s instalment of the long-running program.
Her turmoil all began when she visited her late daughter Grace’s grave and bumping into her estranged husband Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) who recently moved on with former flame Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley).
Feeling more alone than ever, Chas sought comfort in The Hide, drowning her sorrows and bumping into “Simon” for the first time.
Unbeknownst to her at the time, “Simon” was none other than Harry and he already had a troubled history with both of her brothers Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) and Caleb Milligan (Will Ash), whom he’d once beaten to a pulp.
Chas allowed her new love interest to sleep on her sofa and, shaken by her son Aaron’s unexpected return to the eponymous village, she met up with “Simon” once again on Wednesday.
The pair enjoyed another drink in the backroom of the Woolpack, prompting Chas to admit that she may have made a mistake in inviting “Simon” over again.
However, “Simon” aka Harry insisted and tried to get her to open up about her “ungrateful” son Aaron in a bid to gain more of her trust.
He then managed to convince her to wander elsewhere with him and both characters ended up in a field.
Harry asked Chas about the drama with Aaron, which then prompted him to drop his mask and reveal his own issues with Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter).
The penny dropped for Chas as she realised “Simon” was not to be trusted but it was too late – Harry calmly ordered her to keep quiet and do as she was told.
In later scenes, Harry was seen wiping his hands suspiciously and talking to a mystery contact but Chas was nowhere to be seen.
To make matters worse, Harry picked up a bracelet Chas had been wearing, made by her young daughter Eve, and declared that “the rest of them” had no idea what was coming to them.
As mentioned above, Harry once targeted Caleb and left him bloodied and bruised in his office when he refused to carry guns for him.
The criminal had vanished before bonding with Chas and viewers had suspected he could have a grisly plan for the Dingle clan, particularly Caleb.
But what does he have in mind?
Is Chas Dingle leaving Emmerdale?
Faced with the sinister scenes, viewers immediately swarmed over to X, formerly known as Twitter, fearing Chas may have met her maker.
“What happened to Chas? Suggests she’s been killed but idk? Is that what supposed to believe”, one of them commented.
Another echoed: “Chas as well? How many are they bumping off like??”
While Chas is clearly in danger, no word has been uttered about her potential death or exit and her fate is up in the air.
This would mean that there is still hope for Chas to remain in the eponymous village and escape Harry’s plans for her.
And thankfully for the beloved character, Cain and Caleb have caught on and realised Harry is back in the village and up to no good.
The pair of brothers were previously distracted by Aaron Dingle who had had a run-in with the Italian mafia and owed them a whopping amount of money.
After saving him from death, Cain and Caleb kept him tied up in a nearby barn.
But during Wednesday’s trip to the Dales, Nate Robinson spotted Chas and Harry together and reported back to his father and uncle.
Soon, Gail Loman was approached in The Woolpack and she innocently revealed that Chas had gone out with her “new boyfriend.”
But will Cain and Caleb find Chas in time to save her?
Has Harry really killed Chas?

Who plays Chas Dingle in Emmerdale?
Chas Dingle first rocked up Emmerdale dressed up as a nun for her cousin Marlon Dingle’s wedding in 2002.
She immediately caused a stir and has remained at the core of many dramatic storylines ever since.
The character has been portrayed by Lucy Pargeter for over two decades and her role has turned her into a household name in the UK.
Hailing from Nottingham and born on March 1, 1977, the 46-year-old began her acting career in the 1996 TV film The Bare Necessities where she acted alongside on-screen half-brother Will Ash.
After appearances in Soldier Soldier, Dalziel and Pascoe and in the film Anita and Me, Lucy got her big break as Helen Raven in Crossroads (2002-2003) before ending up in Emmerdale.
Thanks to her role in soapland, Lucy bagged the Best Actress award at the 2019 British Soap Awards and was nominated for Best Female Dramatic Performance and Best On-Screen Partnership with Emmerdale husband Dominic Brunt.
This wasn’t her first sign of recognition as, in 2007, she and former Emmerdale co-star Tom Lister won Best Couple for their portrayal of Chas and Carl King at TV3’s TV Now magazine awards.
Lucy has also had her share of reality TV gigs with her first stint being in the singing competition Soapstar Superstar in January, 2006, where she finished in third place.
In 2011, she also appeared in a celebrity edition of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? with on-screen son Danny Miller.
Much like the Aaron Dingle actor, she also took part in I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! in 2013, scoring the third place.
In December 2017, Lucy then appeared in a celebrity instalment of ITV game show The Chase and won £5k out of the £15,000 she aimed to bag for her selected charity, Safe at Last which provides front line services to children aged 16 and under who have run away from or been forced to leave their homes.
As mentioned above, Lucy has been a part of Emmerdale drama for the past two decades.
But could it all abruptly end?
Emmerdale airs weeknights from 7.30pm on ITV.
