Strictly Come Dancing’s Ellie Leach teases Coronation Street return after ‘growing up on soap’
ELLIE Leach is tearing up the dance floor on the latest season of Strictly Come Dancing, but has now revealed the likelihood of her returning to Coronation Street once her dancing days are done.
The soap star has been competing alongside pro dancer Vito Coppola on Strictly after swapping the cobbles for the stage this year.
Ellie, 22, played Corrie’s Faye Windass for 12 years before making the change, dealing with storylines involving teen pregnancy to early menopause.
After an explosive exit from the show, she has said “never say never” about returning to Coronation Street – but it looks like the actress has her sights set on new experiences first.
She told the Express: “I don’t know, I mean never say never. But you know, I think now is a great time for me to see kind of see what else is out there.
“I’ve been at Corrie for 12 years and it’s a long, long time, and I’ve grown up there.
“And I loved every second of that, and I’m really grateful as well to now be doing something that’s completely different and pushing myself out of my comfort zone.”
Ellie also shared that her former castmates are rooting for her as she tackles the difficult dance competition.
She added: “I’ve had some really nice messages from all the people at Corrie and they’re just really wishing me well and it’s been really nice to have their support.”
The star has sparked romance rumours with her dance partner after the pair oozed chemistry during an interview with the Sun.
Vito shared that they jumped for joy when they were paired up, saying: “We ran to each other like a slow mo running like in the movie, I was so happy.
“We jump, well, she jumped on me, and we twisted and we make the first lift of our Strictly journey already.”
The pair were also spotted leaving the Pride of Britain awards together.
