I’m mum-shamed for dressing my baby like a ‘chav’, people slam his ‘adult clothes’ but he looks cute in Tommy Hilfiger
A MUM has hit out at trolls for shaming her over the ‘adult clothes’ she dresses her baby in.
Kayley shares baby boy Brody with her other half Ryan and often uses her social media to share updates on their family.
In one video, she revealed a common comment that she receives: “Don’t dress him like a chav…”
But it seems Brody’s father had other ideas he dressed the little one up in a Nike babysuit, a Tommy Hilfiger tracksuit with Nike trainers as well as an Under Armour outfit too.
While many said his dad has “good taste” and praised the way the pair were raising and dressing their child, some weren’t as supportive.
“I hate seeing babies in adult clothes they should be wearing cute baby clothes,” one person wrote.
Not one to take things lying down, TikTok user @kayleynryan replied: “The only thing I’ve got to say on this is have your own child and dress your child how you wanna dress them.
“Don’t worry about how me and Ryan dress our child.”
She went on to insist her son is “happy, healthy, fed and warm,” and if they want to buy him branded tracksuits, tops or coats then they will.
“…And there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that,” she said.
“But that’s not to say that we don’t also shop as Asda, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons and getting stuff from there as well.
“There’s absolutely nothing wrong with non-branded clothing.”
She questioned if it was a crime to want to treat their child to a few luxury items of clothing every once in a while.
Kayley added: “So keep your nib out. Concentrate on your own life. Until you’re benefiting ours, just back off.”
Agreeing with her response, many people flocked to the comments to share their thoughts.
One person said: “You don’t need to explain yourself to no one!” followed by a red heart emoji.
Another shared: “Tracksuits are nice and soft and comfortable for little babies tho. Plus flexible for them at soft play etc”.
“He is so healthy ignore the haters xxx,” a third argued.
While a fourth added: “I did same with my first son don’t listen to hates they need to grow up really,” followed by a hearts emoji.
