I put my hood up and whack sunnies on for the school run – I’d rather stick pins in my eyes than talk to the other mums
THE school gates – it’s a place where many mums will often stand around waiting for their children to emerge, whilst engaging in a bit of gossip.
However, one blonde-haired mother has revealed that she couldn’t think of anything worse than nattering to other mums at the school gates.
The young mum explained that instead of chatting at the school gate, she is an “in and out” parent, who will quickly grab her child and go.
The mother revealed that she will even go as far as pulling her hood up and whacking sunglasses on for the school run, even when it’s raining, to avoid speaking to the other mums.
Posting on social media, the mother shared the measures she goes to, including her top tip to avoid getting involved in conversations with other parents.
She said: “When you’re a straight in and out school mum and not a stand about talking to the other parents for 20 minutes mum.”
The woman then shared the hack she swears by: “The key is to not give any eye contact.”
She then advised: “Drop off and run off.”
The mother then mimed along to an MK song, titled Look Right Through, as she mimed about the other parents: “They don’t talk to me.”
Not only this, but she also confirmed: “Hood up, sunglasses on in [the] rain.”
As a result of her school gate attire, the mother claimed that she gets strange looks from other parents, but she doesn’t care as she would “rather stick pins in my eyes” than stand around and natter.
The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @c201683, has clearly left many stunned, as it has quickly amassed a whopping 26,500 views in just one day.
Many other parents could relate to the mother and were eager to express this in the comments.
One person said: “I seem to only get strange looks when I pull up, god knows why.”
To this, the mother replied: “Me too.”
Another added: “I’m that mum too.”
A third commented: “I’m the same, I don’t even make eye contact with anyone.”
Meanwhile, another parent explained: “I don’t know how people do it, I can’t even function till at least 10am.
“I’m not a morning person. literally speed walk there and home head down.”
To this, the mother again confirmed: “Me too.”
