I’m a plus-size model – trolls say I’m ‘promoting obesity’ and my body is ‘ugly’ but I love myself, belly and all
A CURVY model has slapped back at the trolls who shamed her for glorifying obesity – by loving herself.
She might be plus-size but she is also the poster child of self-love.
“You’re promoting obesity,” said Julie (@777jujuu) as she mimicked some of the negative comments she recalled.
“Fat bodies are ugly, wasted potential,” she said.
“Body positivity is an excuse to be lazy, go to the gym,” were other fat-shaming phrases she had gotten used to.
She was sick and tired of people judging her weight and assuming she was probably unhealthy.
Still, Julie wasn’t going to let anyone bring her down.
The body-positive model seemed to love all of her love handles – and herself.
Over a dubbed voice, Julie spoke directly to the trolls.
Let’s just say she wanted them to keep their mouths shut.
She might have had her share of haters, but she also found her squad of supportive fans.
“Who said that about all that beauty exploding from everywhere in every direction?” said one encouraging follower.
“You’re beautiful,” another viewer agreed.
One watcher couldn’t understand where all the hate was coming from: “She ain’t even that big, she look fine to me.”
In a second video, the New York-based plus-size model had another message – this time to herself.
“In the end, no one else’s opinions on you and your appearance matters. If you love yourself and love what you do, that’s more than enough.”
“Are you happy with yourself,” she then mouthed the words of a Beyonce song.
She even wore a cropped tank top and proudly showed off her body.
Julie wasn’t just loving herself, but encouraging others.
“Needed this today,” said another inspired fan.
