Big Brother legend looks unrecognisable after quitting UK for new life and posh job in South Africa
HE was a memorable character from the innocent golden age of early years Big Brother.
And two decades on from the classic series three line-up that featured household names Kate Lawler and Alison Hammond, this charming globetrotter looks very different and leads a life of luxury in South Africa.
Tim Culley entered the Big Brother house hot on the heels of completing a business finance degree at the University of Durham.
The assured student was working as a tennis coach at the time and skipped his graduation ceremony to take part in the show.
The headstrong reality star also failed to tell his then girlfriend he was going onto the programme.
The natural redhead, who died his hair black in the house, struck up a friendship with house heartthrob Alex Sibley and threw himself into challenges with gusto.
In the diary room he declared he was one of the only housemates on the programme being their 100 percent authentic self.
Tim was obsessed with his hair in the house and was caught running his fingers through it in any reflective surface he could.
Among his highlights in the CCTV compound were the famous Boogie Nights challenge.
On Day 53, whenever the buzzer sounded, housemates had three minutes to put on pads and roller skates and get to the floor of the converted second bedroom.
If a housemate failed to make it to the roller disco in time it was a “no show” strike and, if they got three, the group failed the task.
In hilarious scenes, Tim got into a heated argument with Big Brother in the diary room over his inability to complete the task due to his contact lenses and was mocked by viewers for the way he said “comprendez” to hammer home his point.
Less than a week later, Tim exited the house in the final regular eviction ceremony of the series, losing out to pal Alex and was greeted by a chorus of boos from the crowd.
Tim’s background in business and his childhood in Hong Kong paved the way for his later life success.
He now lives in a huge gated home in Cape Town where he runs an online art business.
And he has the car to match his stunning home in the form of a black Range Rover.
His business Pixalot allows customers to pick their own images and have them framed to their own specifications.
Tim proudly has an iconic picture of Muhammad Ali hanging pride of place in his living room courtesy of his company.
