EastEnders star reveals hospital dash and health struggles after vowing to lose weight
EASTENDERS star Rob Kazinsky has shared a personal update with fans regarding his health, revealing he’s been in and out of hospital multiple times.
It comes two months after Rob, 39, vowed to lose weight and “get into superhero shape” while sharing his exercise regime online.
Rob is best known for playing Sean Slater in EastEnders on and off for the past two decades.
Back in August, the BBC soap star shared photos of his current body shape and build on social media.
“Here is day one, my starting off point. I weigh 220lbs, I’m at 19.7% body fat,” he shared alongside shirtless photos.
Explaining his decision to focus on and document his fitness journey, Rob said: “I turn 40 in a few months and one thing I’ve learned is that it’s getting harder and harder every single day to train and recover, I can’t do things like I did in my 20s.”
He noted that he wanted to “get into superhero shape” without steroids.
“So we will start here as I figure this out. And we will do check ups, and updates and hopefully soon I’ll be able to tell you what it’s for,” he added.
Rob also announced his plans to work with a boxing trainer to improve his skills.
However, the updates Rob promised in August never came.
Taking to Instagram again yesterday, he admitted that multiple injuries and sickness have slowed his progress quite a bit.
“One of the massive disadvantages of getting older is injuries happen more often and last longer.
“In my 20s a pulled muscle was recovered in two days, now it’s two weeks.
“Over the last two months I’ve been in and out of hospital with various issues, a flu followed by 3 weeks of stomach issues that ended up with me in hospital, and the as soon as I recovered from that I got Covid, which hit me every time like an absolute train and required the shaving of the chest for an EKG and THEN two weeks ago, like the old man I am, I slipped a disc and two ribs.”
However, Rob did share a progress picture along with his post, which shows the actor visibly leaner than his starting pictures.
While he hasn’t been able to do much exercise, he said he’s been able to drop some fat by sticking to his new diet.
Now that he’s recovered, he plans to focus more on exercise, too.
“Hopefully now we can kick on and start shredding up this old body,” he said.
Rob concluded: “So consider this yet another starting off point, and if like me you’re struggling to get going, keep trying, it doesn’t matter how many times you fail as long as you get up one time more than you fall.”
