Bodies – Available from Thursday
Police procedurals don’t get much more mind-bending or original than Bodies. When the very same dead body is found on Longharvest Lane in the East End of London in the years 1890, 1941, 2023 and 2053, four different detectives, separated by decades, begin to investigate.
Before long, more strange connections are made. Could shadowy political figure Elias Mannix (Stephen Graham) be central to the whole mystery? Based on a graphic novel by Si Spencer, it’s an eight-part thriller that will appeal to fans of sci-fi and crime dramas alike.
Vjeran Tomic: The Spider-Man of Paris – Available from Friday
In 2010, Vjeran Tomic, a burglar nicknamed Spider-Man, broke into the Museum of Modern Art in Paris and stole five paintings. Needless to say, these weren’t any old paintings: his haul contained a Picasso, a Matisse, a Braque, a Modigliani and a Léger, and had an estimated combined value of nearly £100million.
Tomic was eventually caught the following year, after an anonymous tip-off. He was jailed for eight years and handed a huge fine alongside his accomplices. Now, in this gripping documentary, Tomic himself explains how – and why – he pulled off what remains the biggest art heist in French history.
Surviving Paradise – Available from Friday
These days, there tends to be two kinds of competitive reality show: there’s the type with the sun-soaked luxury villa, filled with hot young people hoping to hook up; then there are the ones in which people are stranded in some inhospitable spot and must battle the elements, hunger and each other.
Jessimae Peluso hosts this series that combines the two, introducing us to 12 contestants who think they’re about to have some serious fun in the sun at a seaside villa but are instead sent to some nearby woods, armed with nothing but the clothes on their backs and their survival instincts. By forging alliances, the 12 must team up to bag a place in the villa – and the chance to win the $100,000 grand prize. But guess what? There will be plenty of twists, turns and treachery along the way.
Elite – Available from Friday
On the surface, life should be a walk in the parque for the young men and women who attend posh Spanish private school Las Encinas. But if you’ve caught any of the previous six series of this dramatic yet enjoyably glossy teen thriller, you’ll know that trouble has a habit of rearing its head rather too regularly.
We rejoin the show with Omar (Omar Ayuso) at university but unable to move on from the guilt he feels for Samuel’s death. After undergoing therapy, and with Joel’s (Fernando Lindez) support, he decides it’s time to face his demons by taking an internship back at Las Encinas. Once back there, however, he discovers that he’s not the only one suffering from crippling mental anguish. In Spanish, with subtitles.

Welcome to small-town Florida, where three young friends – Santi (Tyler Dean Flores), Ness (Emma Ferreira) and Felix (Jordan Mendoza) – dream of going to Miami and making it big in the world of reggaeton, a style of music massively popular in the Caribbean and South America. However, the reality of trying to break into – and survive – the cutthroat world of the music industry threatens to shatter the trio’s dreams.
Crammed with humour, heart, characters you’ll root for and an epic reggaeton soundtrack courtesy of Grammy Award-winning producer Tainy, this is a bright and fresh eight-part comedy-drama that will add a splash of colour and warmth to a gloomy British autumn.
The Devil On Trial – Available from Tuesday
It was a murder trial that stunned America. In 1981, Arne Cheyenne Johnson, then 19 years old, was accused of killing his landlord, Alan Bono, by stabbing the man to death in a frenzied attack.
When the case went to trial, however, Johnson insisted that he had committed the murder while possessed by demonic forces – the one and only time such a defence has been used in the history of the US legal system.
The story of the killing, the trial and the aftermath of both is told in this chilling documentary, which features dramatic reconstructions and first-hand accounts from people who were close to the case, including Johnson himself.

Coleen Rooney: The Real Wagatha Story – Available from Wednesday
Just when it seemed the world had finally started to forget about the notorious ‘Wagatha Christie’ feud between Coleen Rooney and Rebekah Vardy, here comes the long-awaited documentary series that gives Coleen’s side of the saga. Featuring exclusive interviews with Coleen herself and her family and friends, the three-part series recounts how Coleen first turned amateur sleuth to unmask which of her friends had been selling stories about her.
As well as focusing on the libel trial that Rebekah unsuccessfully brought against Coleen, the documentary will shine a light on the constant media attention that Coleen has received ever since she first found fame as the girlfriend of her now husband, former footballer Wayne. For WAG-watchers, it’s… unmissable.

If they haven’t already discovered it, anyone who loves shows like The Good Place and Miracle Workers should make sure they track down Upload. This futuristic comedy-drama follows tech wizard Nathan (Robbie Amell), who’s uploaded to exclusive virtual afterlife Lakeview after he dies in a car accident – and then falls for his living customer service handler Nora (Andy Allo).
In season three, Nathan is back in the real world, after being downloaded into a clone body, which means he and Nora can finally be together properly. Unfortunately, his possessive ex Ingrid (Allegra Edwards) is having real problems letting go – and has uploaded a new version of him to Lakeview, promising double the trouble. Dead funny.

Gold: A Journey With Idris Elba – Available now
What is it about humans and gold? Why is that shiny metal so important to us that it’s even become vital to the stability of world economies? Idris Elba is on a mission to find out, travelling the globe to dig up the history of our fascination with gold, exploring the mysteries, stories and traditions.
Along the way, he gets to plumb the depths of a Canadian mine, investigates responsible mining in South Africa and explores his own heritage in Ghana. He also looks at the future of mining and the challenges the industry faces. Full disclosure: the film is funded by the World Gold Council, so don’t expect it to dwell too long on the darker sides of man’s lust for the shiny stuff.

The criminal fraternity of Los Angeles better beware because tough-talking cop-turned-private investigator Harry Bosch (Titus Welliver) has returned, as grizzled as ever and ready to dish out more no-nonsense justice.
Picking up straight after the events of the first series, things look set to get horribly personal for our hero in season two, with Harry learning that his rookie cop daughter Maddie (Madison Lintz) has been kidnapped. Can Harry track her down and save the day, aided by his old friend, lawyer Honey Chandler (Mimi Rogers) and tech genius Mo (Stephen A. Chang)? Expect no stone to remain unturned.

The Wonder Years – Available from Wednesday
The first series of the Wonder Years reboot was funny, smart and charming, and certainly did more than enough to help establish it away from the shadow of the classic 80s show that inspired it.
Now it’s back for a second series, reintroducing us to young Dean Williams (Elisha Williams), as he continues to navigate the choppy, challenging waters of adolescent life in 1960s Alabama. Season two starts in the summer of 1969, with Dean and his dad Bill (Dulé Hill) spending the summer in New York, where Bill is trying to write songs for Marvin Gaye. Warmly witty nostalgia.
APPLE TV+ The Pigeon Tunnel – Available from Friday
Anyone who’s read any of John le Carré’s classic spy novels will know how exhilarating and suspenseful they are. Equally remarkable was the life of le Carré himself. Born David Cornwell, he had a dramatic career as a British spy during the early 1960s, working for both M15 and M16 at a time when the Cold War was at its height.
Now, this new documentary – based on Cornwell’s memoire The Pigeon Tunnel: Stories From My Life – tells the story of his life and career, spanning six decades and featuring the late novelist’s final interview, archive footage and dramatised scenes. An enlightening portrait, both of the man and the period he lived through.
