I tried to apply for a job at CVS – the process is insane, I spent hours on it and didn’t even get to the special ‘test’
A JOB seeker shocked viewers when he revealed that the worst application he’s ever seen was for none other than CVS.
It was so long-winded that he didn’t even finish it.
Humorous TikToker Patrick Ray (@89texpatpat) said he was left exhausted while applying for a job at the chain retailer.
When one viewer left a comment on another video criticizing the intricacy of PetSmart’s application, Patrick said that CVS was worse.
“Oh let me one up you,” he began in the clip.
“Everybody and their mother are talking about this job, [saying] it’s hiring overnight, it’s remote, it’s hiring.”
After hearing so much about the openings, Patrick decided to give it a shot – but he soon gave up.
“You go to apply, and they want the blood of a newborn child,” he joked.
Revealing what business he was talking about, he said, “Ladies and gentleman: it’s CVS.”
While many people would assume getting a job at such a large corporation is simple, Patrick said they aren’t considering the elaborate application that takes anywhere from two to four hours to complete.
As for what made it so bad, he claimed the system that they use for their applications is impossible to navigate, and he didn’t even make it to the test at the end.
“You can’t even submit an application without doing the whole psychology [test].
“Like, just take this resume.”
He called it the “most insane” application and labeled it the worst he’s seen.
“I didn’t even finish it because I was like, ‘Nah.’”
He wasn’t alone in his complaints, as many commenters said they had the same experience.
“I had to interview with a manager, district manager, area manager, and HR manager for a retail manager position and still didn’t get it,” one revealed.
“I fell asleep midway through applying and woke up but it had timed out and I was like, ‘Nope. Never mind,’” quipped another.
A third offered his take on why the application was so painstakingly long: “Companies do that to weed out people who will speak up or stand up to their BS. They want desperate people who will fight for the crumbs and remain loyal.”
And a fourth pointed out the irony she saw: “Did you notice the lower they pay the more stress they put you through. All that for what?”
