Stay warm on cold winter nights using £1 B&M crafting essential – it takes seconds & could save you £100s
DIY whizz Georgina Bisby has revealed a £1 B&M essential that can reduce heat-loss by 50 per cent – and at the same time save hundreds of pounds.
Georgina shocked her viewers when she posted a video about the bizarre item – as it’s something no one could have guessed.
The dirt-cheap product is a must-have during the winter months and it only takes seconds to assemble.
As the nights draw in and the temperature begins to drop this could be the solution we’re all looking for this chilly season.
Georgina revealed her top tip for keeping your house warm is to use bubble wrap.
She said to her baffled viewers: “I know! I couldn’t believe it either, but It’s really easy to do, you just have to cut it to the size of your windows and then mist it using some water in a spray bottle – then it will easily stick.
She continued: “The beauty of it is that you can easily remove it as well with absolutely no damage.”
And she said that the magic method can “reduce heat-loss by 50 per cent so it’s well worthwhile once you windows are insulated.”
Looking for places where there might be a draft and blocking them with blankets and towels can also work wonders, according to Georgina.
The comments section of the clip has been flooded with positive feedback and glowing reviews.
One viewer wrote: “I love these videos thank you, I also love the way that we are learning to take back the control of our lives, I’m a 60s baby and we did everything possible to keep warm in the cold uk winters.
“This might not be for everyone, but, I do light candles in my cold bathroom, that helps.”
And another who had tried the trick said: “So the really cold weather has arrived and I did the bubble wrap thing.
“When I started it was 19,9C° and really drafty in my living room. I only insulated the bottom half of the big ceiling to floor windows.
“WOW just wow! The temperature went immediately to 21,2C° and it’s so much more comfortable now that the drafts have stopped.”
This is not the only nifty heating hack to make the news recently.
Last month we told of a hack which could save you £100 on energy bills.
Specialists from the Energy Saving Trust say that by making one simple adjustment to your boiler, you could knock £100 off your annual bill.
They said: “If you are warm enough, try turning your thermostat down by one degree, which could save you around £100 a year.
