Iconic 90s band returns with brand new Christmas single 25 years after multi-million selling album
ONE of the 90s’ most iconic bands are back – with a Christmas single.
The Goo Goo Dolls, comprised of members John Rzeznik, 57, and Robby Takac, 59, will release their next track on November 17.
The lyric video for Who’s Gonna Hear Their Wish? was teased on Instagram over the weekend.
It features the lyrics, “But for the grace go for you and I, too many people on the streets tonight, who’s gonna hear their wish this Christmas?”
Rock fans rejoiced in the comments, with one writing, “This is the only form of early Christmas that I will accept.”
Another added, “What a nice gift for us all! Thanks for all of your music- and the messages in every single song!”
While someone else enthused, “LOVE IT!!!!!”
The Goo Goo Dolls, whose catchy track Iris catapulted them to fame in 1988, first formed with bandmembers George Tutuska and Mike Malinin.
Last year, frontman John told how he still has Glastonbury on his bucket list.
The US rocker told The Sun: “If I was asked, I definitely wouldn’t say no. That would be amazing.”
Last year the group – John and Robby Takac – released their 13th album, Chaos In Bloom.
And John said it annoyed him when musicians complained about performing live.
He went on: “Part of what we do is, ‘You are an entertainer’.
“And you have to put that hat on and play the songs that people want to hear.
“I know lots of artists who are like, ‘Uh, if I have to play that song one more time, I’ll kill myself.’ And I’m like, ‘OK, you ungrateful b*****d.’
“I was in a bar with one guy who had a massive hit, and he’s whining about it, and I’m like, ‘Dude, that song bought you a house in the Hollywood Hills.’”
