Woman shows off huge haul as massively popular store closes – with stationery going for as little as 25p
A WOMAN has revealed the results of a shopping spree she went on at her local The Works store.
And the bargain hunter claimed that everything was cheap as chips as the popular art, craft, books and stationery shop on her high-street was closing down – a report that is yet to be confirmed.
The shopper said she had walked into the store in Ellesmere Port to see if there was anything worth buying.
And she was surprised to find a huge sale, with many products prices dramatically slashed, with many on offer at half price.
This included games, toys, and stationary all at fantastic prices – so much so that she couldn’t resist.
After coming home with her goodies, she took to Facebook to show off her haul and fill other similarly savvy shoppers in on the details.
Alongside the snap which showed over 20 different items, she told them: “My local shop (Ellesmere port) said not all, but various stores across the country are closing and they’re just clearing the stock.”
She then encouraged others to go and check out their store, just in case they could get their hands on anything good.
The Facebook user continued: “If anyone has a shop near them that’s closing down, check it out!
“I’ve been popping in for the last couple of weeks when I’m in town and I’ve managed to get all of this for £30!
“They’re selling most items half price, then they have a table that’s half price again when you take it to the till!”
She added: “So most items are anything from 25p – max £3.50.”
It didn’t take long for the post to catch the attention of those who are always on the lookout for a bargain buy.
One wrote: “Amazing haul!”
As a second social media user said: “Be good for Xmas for the kids, especially the books.”
While it is not yet known if this store is indeed closing down, others have in the past, according to Time Out.
The popular brand has seen three closures and one relocation this year after a string of other high-street retailers were also affected.
The Works’ Hitchin branch closed its doors in August, while shoppers also bid farewell to one in Yorkshire and another in Lincolnshire.
Meanwhile, one shop in Wolverhampton reportedly moved from its original location to the Lower Mall of the shopping centre.
But one The Works fan pointed out on Facebook that fans of the shop shouldn’t worry.
They typed: “Sale/clearance will vary by store, from the post it looks like this specific store is closing.
“They are opening lots of new stores with the new branding.”
