I have a lower belly pouch, adult acne, and gain 5 to 10 lbs every month – it’s normal and cute
IN the name of being genuine, one social media user shared the physical and emotional realities that riddle her.
She thinks it’s time we normalize things like adult acne and lower tummy pouches.
TikToker Bree (@breewoolard) calls herself “the realest influencer” with pride.
She aims to show the nitty gritty realities of her life – unlike most influencers who only put forth the pretty highlights – to make others feel seen.
In one clip, she revealed some of the regular so-called problems she faces.
“I think it’s time we all hold hands and normalize a few things,” she began.
First up: stop feeling shame around your lower belly pouch.
When one commenter agreed, saying that the “lower tummy pouch is one of [their] favorite characteristics of women,” Bree agreed, writing: “It’s so normal and so cute!!”
Another person, however, noted how tricky it can be to feel confident in your own skin: “It’s hard to love the lower tummy pouch when you see so many girls with flat tummies. I’m like, ‘How?!’”
As such, Bree thought it was important to “make social media more real,” and shared the other realities she wants to normalize.
“Losing friendships in your 20s, naturally spending most of your time alone, gaining five to 10 pounds before your period.
“Wearing clothes that you’re comfortable in regardless of what’s in style, adult acne, unapologetically eating the whole pizza by yourself.”
And finally, don’t worry if you feel lost.
“Not having everything figured out, despite the pressure to,” Bree wrote, is normal.
Viewers loved her takes.
“Heavy on spending most of your time alone,” one person praised.
“Gaining weight before your period is so true,” added another.
And a third thanked her for the validation: “This made me feel so much better about myself lol. Social media has been making me self-conscious lately.”
