Neighbour parked in front of MY driveway so I left her a fuming note… but then my doorbell cam caught her odd reaction
A NIGHTMARE neighbour kept parking in front of one man’s driveway so he left a fuming note – but her reaction was shocking.
Bitter parking wars can rapidly escalate into petty madness – such as this fight between two residents battling it out for a space.
In concerning footage captured on a doorbell camera, a woman is seen parking her car in front of the homeowner’s driveway.
While she is not entirely covering the entrance, her bumper is over the line which is considered an obstruction.
After dealing with the selfish parking for some time, the man finally left an angry note on her car explaining it is “rude” to block driveways.
The inconsiderate driver took a moment to read the letter before marching up the the house and throwing it in a crumpled mess on their front garden.
She stomps back to her car to leave, when a fresh wave of rage appears to wash over her.
It seemed littering the note was not enough, so she returns and rips it up into tiny pieces while scattering them to deliver her heated message.
After the shocking, but entertaining, clip was shared on TikTok, people flooded the comment section with their disgust.
“I’d have called a tow truck,” penned one disgruntled user.
“Use a bar of soap and write you message on her car”, joked a second.
Another wrote: “Petty and immature, poor thing.”
“Next time I would egg it”, said someone else.
While others went as far as suggesting he should let air out of her tyres.
“I’m shocked you didn’t have her towed, I would have, only because of stuff like that – they don’t respect you,” added another.
“Have the dumba** arrested for littering and trespassing,” said someone else.
But, there were some people who defended the driver, and branded the note writer a “Karen”.
“Doesn’t look like she blocked anything unless you drive on the walkway,” wrote one.
“Her bumper was a bit over, but you aren’t blocked,” agreed another.
A third said: “She didn’t block the driveway you were just being a Karen.”
“When you get your feeling hurt and cause an issue when you in fact can drive in and out of your driveway,” added someone else.
In the UK, it is not technically illegal for someone to block your drive with their car.
But, if their wheel is over the dropped kerb, they are committing a parking offence and can be ticketed.
There are two types of dropped kerbs: those for pedestrians, especially those with buggies or wheelchairs, and those for drivers to access driveways.
The Highway Code states that a car cannot cause an obstruction to the road, but this does not include obstructing access to private land.
In the case that someone is blocking your driveway and will not leave, you can contact the council or even the police.
According to the Met Police: “If you can find the owner of the vehicle, we’d first recommend asking them politely to move it.
“If you can’t find them, try leaving a note on their windscreen. After all, they may not realise they have caused a problem. If this doesn’t work, please contact your local council.”
You can also report antisocial behaviour online to the police.
This comes as other homeowners are infuriated by inconsiderate drivers who steal their spaces.
One shared a photo of their neighbour’s car sat right in the middle of their driveway – and divulged how they got revenge.
