BBC Breakfast fans ‘put off their food’ as Nadine Dorries ‘flirts up a storm’ with Charlie Stayt
BBC BREAKFAST fans have been ‘put off their food’ as Nadine Dorries ‘flirted up a storm’ with Charlie Stayt.
The flagship programme continued this morning with Charlie, 61, and Naga Munchetty on hosting duties.
Both presenters brought viewers the latest news from across the country.
During the show they were joined on the iconic red sofa but former culture secretary Nadine Dorries.
The MP, who has recently resigned from public office, joined the pair to promote her new book.
But as the interview came to an end, Nadine, 66, awkwardly asked: “Is this going to go viral Charlie, or…?”
As the laughed at her own joke, Naga chimed in and said: “Well only the internet can decide that.”
Leaning in towards Nadine, Charlie replied: “Well you tell me, is there something else you want to say?”
She then brought up her previous interview on BBC Breakfast, which was held over Zoom.
“The thing I never told you is that the first question you asked me was ‘have you spoken to the Prime Minister’ and I’d literally 30 seconds before put the phone down on him.
“I thought you had heard me so that was what freaked me out!”
Charlie then proceeded to quiz Nadine on what the phone conversation was about, which turned out to actually be about him.
Dorries said: “He was saying to me, ‘I hear you’re about to do breakfast TV, do not say anything to Charlie Stayt!'”
The entire exchange left fans uncomfortable as they accused the pair of ‘flirting’ which put them out of the breakfast.
One said: “Nadine Dorries flirting with Charlie on @BBCBreakfast put me off my breakfast. Thanks @TVNaga01 for moving on swiftly!”
A second wrote: “Watching Nadine Dorries ask Charlie Stayt during her BBC Breakfast interview “will this [interview] go viral?” is absolute peak cringe…”
“‘Will this go viral Charlie’ get in the bin Nadine,” said a third.
BBC Breakfast continues daily from 6am on BBC One and iPlayer.
