I used to be too scared to work out in revealing clothes, I’m not anymore but now I’m trolled for my weight
STRUGGLES with weight issues have finally been banished for one online coach.
She has finally found acceptance with her body. But it’s been quite a journey for her.
This gutsy lady used to be too scared to work out in revealing clothes, but not anymore.
Since finding peace with her fuller body shape, she has been targeted by unkind trolls.
But Elmint (@elmint), who has 205,000 TikTok followers, is not entertaining their nonsense.
“I have gained weight,” she said in her post. “But we need to break the stigma around gaining weight being bad.”
These days, she is taking up space and will not have it any other way.
It wasn’t always this way, however: “I was always too scared to wear what I wanted at the gym and always felt the need to cover up,” she said in her video.
Elmint has gone against convention and decided to put a halt to her battle with food and weight.
She discovered that it was all-consuming and affecting her well-being.
“You’ve gained weight,” people have said to her. “Yes I have but I also gained my whole life and happiness back,” she insisted.
In her posts, she beams widely throughout and doesn’t hide her body away either.
“For years of my life, I had an awful relationship with food. From eating 200 calories in a day to non-stop binging, it has never been healthy.”
She had what she described as “severe disordered eating.”
So, in an effort to reclaim the ground, she made a decision, and she has not looked back.
“I decided to claim my life back and stop letting a number on a scale control my existence.
“Since letting myself recover and heal from years of disordered eating I finally felt what it felt to be truly alive.
“To have energy. To want to go out and socialize to actually live.”
Elmit said she felt liberated from the need to lose weight and aspire to a certain body type.
“Eating and recovery truly gave me my personality and my life back. For the first time in years, I actually feel happy and full of life.”
Commenters applauded her brave decision and being so open about it.
“I wish I could do this,” confessed one person.
Another admired her: “You are so beautiful and confident.””
As did this fan: “This is so pure, so proud of you.”
