My top five budget-friendly Dollar Tree meals are great for Thanksgiving dinner – a $10 dish rivals a fast food fave
A DOLLAR tree enthusiast has shared her favorite meals from the superstore which are great choices for Thanksgiving.
The meals not only helped save her money, but a popular dish compared well to a popular fast food item.
Rebecca Chobat (@dollartreedinners) saves money by buying her cooking supplies and ingredients from Dollar Tree.
In a TikTok video, she showed viewers five entrees that are great for Thanksgiving when you’re on a budget.
Not only did she reveal how much the grand total of the entire meal, but she also shared how many people it can feed.
“They would be an excellent option if you’re looking for a budget-friendly Thanksgiving dinner that isn’t a traditional turkey or ham,” she said.
Many of the non-traditional choices contained vegetables, meat, and seafood.
First, she started off with her skillet Chicken a la King that she made in an iron skillet.
The $6.25 dinner can feed four people and is very similar to a chicken pot pie, according to the content creator.
Next, she showed viewers her Swedish-style meatball dinner, which she covered in gravy, placed on top of mashed potatoes, with a side of asparagus.
Overall, the $7.50 meal was able to feed people and was one of the healthiest options on the list.
She added that “it makes great leftovers if there’s just two of you.”
Rebecca put her own spin on the Famous Bowl offered at KFC.
It only cost $10 total from the discount store and she said it could feed four people.
Her favorite part of it was that it included “similar flavors to a traditional Thanksgiving dinner.”
For the fourth seasonal meal, she told viewers about her lazy lasagna.
It was the cheapest entree and for only $5 she claimed that it could feed four people.
“You can bulk it out with some garlic bread and vegetables on the side,” she added.
Lastly, she showed her audience her garlic butter salmon with roasted asparagus and mashed potatoes
The simple but tasty meal was only $8.75 total and fed two people.
Rebecca also claimed that it was “perfect for seafood lovers.”
Viewers appreciated her easy-to-make tips and affordable Thanksgiving options.
“I tried the Skillet Chicken a la King as my first recipe from you, and it was DIVINE! My significant other couldn’t rave enough!!!!” a fan commented.
