Primark is selling a £4.50 spot remover that banishes pimples overnight – but you mustn’t shake the bottle
PRIMARK has dropped a new skincare product that will get rid of your spots overnight – but you have to be careful not to shake the bottle.
The PS… Skin Soothing Spot Lotion is a £4.50 spot treatment with 16% tea tree extract.
It is a dupe for the Dr.Jart+ Ctrl-A Teatreement Soothing Spot, which costs £18 for 15ml.
Fragrant tea tree oil, which comes from Australia, has long been used as a herbal skin solution thanks to its antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties.
However, it’s potent.
Spillage or direct contact with the eyes or eye area could cause serious pain, which is why you shouldn’t shake Primark or Dr.Jart’s products containing it.
That’s also why it should be applied precisely using a cotton bud to just the problem spot.
Tea tree oil has long been used in skincare products for the face, so you don’t need to be worried as long as it’s applied correctly.
When used right, it can alleviate sensitivity, clear out bacteria from pores and support wound healing – particularly if you’ve damaged your skin barrier trying to pop a spot.
“Work to soothe inflamed blemishes and clear up congested skin with our PS… Skin Soothing Spot Lotion,” Primark bosses said.
“The anti-imperfection lotion is formulated with a whopping 16% tea tree extract, which is known for its anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties.
“While niacinamide seeks to reduce redness, calamine helps to calm the skin and salicylic acid works to penetrate the deeper layers of skin to help clear out dirt and debris.
“We love to apply this product with pinpoint accuracy by dabbing a cotton swab into the solution and targeting the necessary areas.”
They urged users not to shake the bottle before or when applying the solution to a cotton bud.
Primark’s social team shared the product on Instagram, alongside a tutorial on how to use it.
“What I need,” one shopper said.
“Might have to try this,” another penned.
