What was once a very unloved space, which was in desperate need of some TLC, had been given a new lease of love, using cheap buys from the high street.
In one video, the social media user showed off the caravan and wrote: “Follow our renovation on our 1995 Lunar Ariva.
“We plan on giving our two-three berth home on wheels a Scandi-home feel.
“This is the current state of Nessie having stood for two years…
“Follow our journey for more.”
In a follow-up clip, we saw the savvy woman transforming the kitchen in her home on wheels.
Using Stick Ease self-adhesive stick-on vinyl wall tiles from Home Bargains, the DIY fan was able to instantly give the once rundown caravan a fresh, modern and sleek feel.
However, the woman added: “This looks easier than it was.”
She later explained: “These are from Home Bargains but I think you can get them from a lot of places.
“I wish I’d bought squares as the brick shape was so hard.”
Not only has the kitchen been given a DIY upgrade, but the sofas have been given a new lease of life too.
In another video, the woman showed off the old sofas and wrote: “Watch as we cover Nessie’s dated red seating.
“We used a painter’s dust sheet as the fabric was perfect and inexpensive!”
Using canvas dust sheets from Homebase, the DIY enthusiast then advised: “First cut the fabric to size and lay the cushion face down..
“Place thin MDF onto the back, pull the material tight and staple down the fabric.”
Using a staple gun, the woman explained: “Remember to fold the edges and corners to make it neat.”
Seconds later, the caravan owner shared a before and after look of the sofas – what were once very floral and dated had since been given a chic glow up, without breaking the bank.
The clips were posted on TikTok under the username @nessiethenest, and have since gained a lot of attention online, with the most popular clip racking up a staggering 218,400 views.
Social media users were impressed with the caravan’s overhaul and many took to the comments to express this.
One person said: “That looks class.”
Another added: “Looking good so far guys!”
A third commented: “You have all done a beautiful job of making Nessie into a stunning caravan. Love the colours you have chosen. You have worked hard.”
