Tearful King unveils touching tributes to late Queen and Philip before honouring war dead at Festival of Remembrance
KING Charles looked tearful tonight as he unveiled a touching tribute to his late mother at the Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance.
The King and Queen revealed new statues at the Royal Albert Hall this evening to honour the proud memory of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip.

King Charles pulled the curtains away from a glorious statue of his late mother, while Queen Camilla was in charge of unveiling Prince Philip’s tribute.
The annual festival – which came after a day of clashes and protests in London on Armistice Day – was held as an opportunity for the nation to say thank you to all who served and those who sacrificed their lives.
But, it also marks 80 years since The Battle of the Atlantic and the 70th anniversary of the Korean War – plus the 75th anniversary of the arrival of the Windrush Generation.
The King, who turns 75-years-old on Tuesday, paused before the statues of his mother and father in the hall’s North Porch.
Statues of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert were also unveiled.
The four new sculptures were commissioned by The Royal Albert Hall to mark their 150th anniversary celebrations.
Inside the Royal Albert Hall, the King and Queen were joined by the Prince and Princess of Wales, Prince Edward and Sophie, Princess Anne and Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, and Duke of Kent.
It comes after thousands of Brits lined the streets with poppies on their chests and bowed their heads to honour the brave people who fought for our country.
A peaceful two minute silence is taken every year to remember the war dead as part of Remembrance Day.
Princess Anne lead a Service of Remembrance today on top of the Armed Forces Memorial at the National Memorial Arboretum, in Staffordshire.
However, the memorable day has been clouded by protesters descending onto London with cops having to stand guard at the Cenotaph.
A Pro-Palestine march had been organised through London today, with counter protesters causing chaos in the capital amid fears Armistice Day services would be interrupted .
Isolated scuffles involving the counter protesters broke out just before 11am, with missiles thrown at cops.
At present more than 100 protesters have been arrested after fights erupted near London’s Cenotaph today.
