The Beeb made no official announcement relation to the decision to air the show in an early time-slot but it is not uncommon for the programme to find itself beginning at various times between 6 and 7:30pm.
It is believed the airing of the Remembrance Day concert is thought to have played a factor.
Unhappy fans raced to X – formerly Twitter – to hit out at the schedule change with one even insisting the broadcaster “had no right”.
One viewer said of the matter: “#Strictly has got no right being on so bloody early. #SCD.”
Another added: “#Strictly is on pretty early tonight.”
Before a third penned: “Why is Strictly on at Six O’Clock? Absolutely ridiculously early.”
Across the show, Layton Williams, Ellie Leach, and Bobby Brazier all seriously impressed the judging panel.
Channel 4 star Krishnan Guru-Murthy found himself at the bottom of the leaderboard and risked being sent home after his Samba failed to hit the mark.
The stars will be left hoping to survive one more week in order to make it through to the all-important Blackpool week.
In a surprise moment during tonight’s show, Bobby Brazier has hinted that he is dating someone new after he confessed to ‘sharing a bed’ with a mystery individual.
The actor and model, 20, made the confession to Claudia Winkleman following his latest performance on Strictly Come Dancing with pro partner Dianne Buswell.
The son of Jade Goody and Jeff Brazier, said to the show’s host: “I woke up one morning doing this [flings arms into the air].
“I woke myself up doing that. The week before, the person I shared a bed with, I turned and I said this is the…”
Dianne pulled a stunned face and giggled as Bobby attempted to continue his story.
Elsewhere, Shirley Ballas admitted to almost wetting herself live on air in a hilarious moment.
After watching tennis star Annabel Croft, Shirley laughed as she said: “You had beautiful chemistry and you let yourself go on this… I might wet my pants, I was so excited!”
