Jacob Gallagher’s secret girlfriend exposed in Emmerdale scenes

VICTORIA Sugden and Jacob Gallagher have tried to keep their budding romance a secret for several weeks.

However, someone close to the lad becomes suspicious that he is involved with a secret girlfriend next week in Emmerdale.

David Metcalfe (portrayed by Matthew Wolfenden) is blissfully unaware of all the secrecy surrounding him in the ITV village.

While his father Eric Pollard (Chris Chittell) has been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, the shopkeeper also has no idea that his son Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) has grown romantically attached to his ex-fiancée, Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins).

However, in scenes airing next week, one of those secrets is on the verge of coming to light.

It all begins as David interrupts Jacob and Brenda Walker’s (Lesley Dunlop) conversation about Pollard.

Once again, he remains completely oblivious to the sparks between Jacob and Victoria.

In later scenes, village GP Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker) convinces Pollard to join her for a chat and some golf.

Unfortunately for Jacob, his mother Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi) realises he’s hiding something as she twigs he has a new woman in his life.

Will she realise who it is?

How will she react when she figures out Jacob has feelings for Victoria?

Leyla had a bone to pick with Victoria when she accidentally poisoned Jacob with nuts and triggered an allergic reaction.

The lad was taken to hospital for urgent medical care, where he admitted to Victoria how he felt about her.

Jacob and Victoria lived as stepmother and stepson while she was still involved with David Metcalfe and share a nine-year age gap, meaning their romance could shock more than one villager.

Will Leyla try to get revenge on Victoria for bedding her son?

While this remains to be seen, David Metcalfe actor Matthew Wolfenden is due to make an explosive exit after 17 years in the Dales.

When his departure was first teased, fans of the Yorkshire-based program theorised he could leave a heartbroken man after finding out that Victoria no longer wants to be involved with him.

But how will he react once he finds out she has been involved with Jacob?
