‘I can’t start my day without them’ shoppers say as Nestle launches NEW chocolate cereal – but others aren’t convinced
NESTLE has launched a new cereal – but it’s divided fans..
Some say the new KitKat flavoured cereal is “so nice” while others have claimed it “smells like cat food”.
Launched earlier this year the box of cereal costing roughly £3.50 hit the UK supermarkets and generated excitement with cereal and KitKat lovers alike.
A poll from The Sun showed that around 65 per cent of participants were excited to try the new cereal.
Now, the cereal has been the subject of debate from those who have tried it.
On Facebook, over a hundred people left comments on a post from Food Finds UK Official.
Reviews were mixed with one person writing: “They’re Ok.
“Not the best not the worst, just kinda in the middle for me.”
Another blasted: “They smell like cat food, put me off.”
Yet, another person commented: “Really nice to be fair… love mine with warm milk.”
Some comments were unhappy about how expensive they felt the cereal was.
One person said: “Another cereal way over overpriced.”
The Nestle-branded cereal has received criticism from shoppers for tasting similar to other ceral boxes.
One person wrote: “Taste kinda like Weetos.”
While another added: “Meh!
“Thought they’d be a lot nicer and taste of KitKat but they don’t.”
The cereal was said to “maintain the essence” of the popular chocolate and includes 7.4g of sugar per 30g serving – 8 per cent of an adult’s recommended daily intake.
Sarah Fordy, head of marketing at Cereal Partners UK and Ireland, which makes Nestle cereal, said: “This exciting new cereal delivers a delicious taste of KitKat and has been developed to cater to consumers who are looking for an occasional, indulgent breakfast option, that can be enjoyed as part of a balanced diet.”
However, from some of the comments left on the Facebook post, it’s obvious not everyone is as convinced it has the delicious taste of the KitKat.
That won’t stop this shopper though who wrote: “I absolutely loveeeeee them, starting eating them a month ago and now cannot start my day without them.”
