Teacher shares the 5 presents they really want for Christmas from your kids – and it’s not another handwritten card
WITH less than a month left of school, many parents will be scrambling to buy gifts for their children’s teachers.
However, one educator has revealed the top 5 gifts they really want to receive this year – and no, it’s not another ‘best teacher’ mug.
As there is so much going on at this time of year, it can be tempting to leave everything to the last minute – especially when it comes to getting ‘extra’ gifts.
If you have multiple kids still at school, it’s even harder not to just pick up boxes of chocolates on the last day of school.
For those who’ve yet to start their Christmas shopping though, you might want to take note of this video from Tiktoker @amessybunteacher.
With over 59,000 followers on the app, the teacher revealed what educators actually want over the festive season and you’ll be shocked by her suggestions.
Forgoing the traditional gifts, she suggested that parents pick up more high tech options – including the Tile tracker.
The handy device can attach to your key chains and can be tracked with your phone, with a set of two costing £28 on Amazon.
She explained: “I don’t know about you but I’m losing my mind and I’m losing my keys and all of my things, so I think this would be a good and practical gift.”
However, this wasn’t the only gadget on the teacher’s must-have wish list.
In fact, she also suggested a mini slowcooker (£14) to put an end to teacher’s lunchtime woes – especially in the cold winter months.
“I love this mini Crockpot that is also portable that you can plug into your classroom,” she gushed, saying: “I think this would be super fun.”
Wanting to set an example to her students, the influencer also suggested the Rocketpad (£28), a high tech notepad with pages you can scan and upload to your phone so you never lose your homework again.
Thankfully, there were some more low tech and budget-friendly items on her Christmas list.
As a teacher is always in need of a pencil, the influencer said that it would great to get some with jokes on to cheer staff up during term time.
“Teachers have the best sense of humour and we love it when parents get it,” she laughed, adding: “So this pack of pencils from the Whiskey River Soap co is hilarious.”
And finally, the teacher recommended a keepsake box for all the precious trinkets and drawings teachers collect from students.
“I hold all of my sweet notes [or drawings] from my students,” she confessed and telling viewers that the present would be ‘very special’ for staff.
With similar boxes starting from as little as £7 online, you can afford to pick this item for virtually the same price as other traditional presents.
If you want to be top of the class though, she recommends that your little one personalises the box and leave a note for their favourite teacher.
In the comments, other educators agreed with her lengthy wish list.
One even commented: “High School admin here. Our teachers don’t care for mugs or anything teaching related.
They added: “Teachers want and deserve something for themselves.”
A concerned parent then responded: “My daughter has 2 teachers. I was thinking about filling a Stanley cup with goodies and a coffee gift card!”
It seems that the viral cup got top marks from another educator though, who said: “This is ideal.”
With all these suggestions, it seems like you are all set for the end of school.
