My $1.48 hack is great for decorating your home with Christmas lights – we innovated with a Lowe’s buy
A HOMEOWNER has shared a genius hack for setting up your exterior Christmas lights.
Using a cheap item that you probably already own, you can elevate your decorating technique.
In her video, Naomi (@whoisnaomi_) filmed her friends as they tried out their DIY hack.
“Stores around us were out of lawn light stakes so we innovated,” she explained.
The group of friends used foam pipe insulation, which they purchased from Lowe’s.
“The six-foot pipes shown here are $1.48,” Naomi revealed in the comments section.
The group of friends separated the foam tube and placed it along the sides of their driveway.
They then ran a string of outdoor Christmas lights through the piping.
After securing the ends with cable ties, they used stakes throughout to secure it.
Naomi showed her followers what the DIY lights looked like after dark too.
For anyone concerned about water gathering in the foam pipe insulation, she reassured them that they had thought of a safety solution.
“There is an opening on both ends and it’s on a slight slope for drainage,” she told viewers.
TikTok users took to the comments section to share their thoughts on the hack.
“Now that’s an idea!! That’s cool,” wrote one impressed follower.
“What a neat idea! Thanks for sharing,” commented another person.
“Step out of the passenger seat and you hear a crunch,” joked a third viewer.
