Ab Fab comedy legend rushed to A&E after horror fall as she shares warning with fans
ABSOLUTELY Fabulous legend Jane Horrocks has been rushed to A&E after suffering a horror fall from her bike.
The comedy star, 59, told her fans that she suffered a frightening accident on black ice.
Jane, who has also starred in the hit sitcom Trollied among a host of other shows, shared the news with her followers on X, formerly twitter.
She wrote: “Just fallen off my bike on black ice in Brighton. In A+E now. It’s crazy busy. I haven’t experienced A+E for a very long time and it’s an eye opener. Be careful cyclists out there.”
The beloved actress also revealed the lesson the incident had taught her.
In a later update, she added: “Maybe these accidents occur to say Slow Down. We do so little of that, that sometimes it takes something stronger to enforce rest. I’m grateful for the guidance.”
Jane also thanked two strangers for their help during her time of need, as well as the hospital staff.
She explained: “A lovely couple helped me when I fell. They got me a cup of tea and brought me home. Thank you to them and the lovely Scottish nurse who put my arm in plaster when all the other ‘plasterers’ had gone home.”
The Little Voice actress was swamped with well wishes after she posted the updates.
“I hope it’s not too serious, sending best wishes,” one fan commented.
“Get well soon Jane,” added another.
“Stay safe,” a third chipped in.
Jane burst on to the scene in the early 90s when she played ditzy Bubble in Ab Fab, alongside Jennifer Saunders‘ Eddie and Joanna Lumley‘s Patsy.
Since then, she has enjoyed an impressive career as a star of stage and screen.
She scored Golden Globes and BAFTA nods for her turn in Little Voice.
As well as being an actor on screen, Jane is a successful voice artist, appearing in 12 animated films including Arthur Christmas, Christmas Carole: The Movie, and Chicken Run
For ten years, Jane appeared alongside Fawlty Towers star Prunella Scales in adverts for Tesco.
