‘It’ll just fall off’ Mrs Hinch fans’ clever way to get tissue bits off clothes when left in a pocket during a wash
THERE are few things more annoying than unloading a wash only to find tissue bits all over your clothes.
But according to Mrs Hinch fans, there’s a quick and easy way to get rid of the pesky pieces – and it doesn’t involve going over the clothes with a lint roller.
One woman took to the Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips group on Facebook to ask for help, as she wrote: “Does anyone have a tip for removing white bits of tissue all over clothes when removed from the washing machine because someone has left a tissue in something before washing?
“I’ve tried all of the usual lint-removing products on them.
“What can I do?”
People were quick to respond with their own advice, with one writing: “My kids do this plenty.
“Give them a damn good shake when dried and put it in the tumble dryer for a few minutes.
“All the tissue bits just fall off.”
“Leave to dry and then tumble dry,” another added.
“Works a treat.”
“This happened to me yesterday, hung my laundry on the airer as normal and put in tumble dryer after,” a third commented.
“If the clothes can be tumble dried, it’s the easiest way,” someone else agreed.
“Only takes five minutes.”
“If you have a tumble dryer put all clothes in there on a cycle, all the tissue is then in the catcher not on the clothes,” another wrote.
“Tumble dryer works great when this has happened to me,” someone else added.
“The tissue fibres cling to the vent and you’d never know.
“Even works on the darkest colours!”
And there’s even a trick you can try if you don’t own a tumble dryer – namely rewashing the load but adding in some aspirin tablets.
“I haven’t tried it myself but someone on here said to wash again with aspirin in the wash,” one wrote.
“Don’t know how many to put in though!”
“I have read that aspirin in the wash dissolves the tissue,” another said.
“Put 4/5 dissolvable aspirin in your machine put clothes in wash on a 30/40 cycle it will disappear,” a third added.
“Tried and tested many times!”
And someone else wrote: “I gave them a good shake chucked in a dispersible paracetamol and put them on a quick wash.
“Tissue gone!”
