Emmerdale legend Bhaskar Patel unrecognisable as he bags new job with I’m A Celebrity star after brutal axe from soap
EMMERDALE star Bhasker Patel has landed a new TV role – working with I’m A Celeb star Seann Walsh.
The comedian took to Instagram with a series of snaps, one of which included a selfie with Bhasker.
He captioned the post: “And that’s a wrap. New sitcom coming soon.”
One excited fan commented: “Looking forward to it.”
Another added: “This is gonna be good!”
A third penned: “What an excellent team.”
Bhasker, 67, played the role of Rishi Sharma, on Emmerdale, for over a decade.
He was sensationally dropped from the long-running ITV show after 12 years.
The star revealed that producers forced his hand in leaving the role after killing off his character.
Speaking to ITV’s Lorraine earlier this year, Bhasker said: “When the producer said, ‘We’re going to kill you off’, I was like, ‘Okay, that part of my life with this guy is over and I’m going to move on’.”
As Christine, 44, read out tributes to his character from devastated fans, Bhasker started to get emotional.
He wiped away tears as he heard the outpouring of love from viewers for him.
Shortly after he had been axed, he’d landed a new role and revealed he’s been shooting scenes for the film, Leviathan.
Seann competed on I’m A Celeb last year, alongside Matt Hancock, Olivia Attwood and Boy George.
The comedian finished in fifth place with the crown going to Jill Scott.
