I was skinny most of my life but always wanted back rolls – now I have them & won’t be insecure, they’re pretty & cuddly
BACK rolls, long derided by body shamers, should be celebrated an influencer has insisted.
She was skinny most of her life, but she always coveted back rolls.
It was, she admitted, a strange thing to wish for, but she considers them pretty and cuddly.
These days she is curvier and can finally adore her back rolls and she doesn’t feel remotely insecure about them.
Neither should anyone else, said Olivia Kirkby (@olivia_kirkby).
This lady has an extraordinary following of 815,000 on her TikTok, where she insists everyone “deserves to be comfortable in their own skin.”
Olivia was responding to a commenter on her platform in her post.
They said: “My back rolls are what I’m so anxious about right now. Thank you for talking about them.”
But Olivia was at pains to point out there was nothing wrong with a bit of extra flesh, classic artists have always liked it after all.
“I always wanted back rolls so much,” she admitted. “I was slim most of my life, like skinny,” she said.
“I would see people with back rolls, and I was like, wow, they just look so womanly and pretty and cuddly and curvy.”
“I also saw it on Renaissance paintings of women and I wanted that so bad.”
She had to wait before she got her own, however. But she admitted it was a bit of a shock initially.
“It wasn’t until I gained weight and I got them – and at first I was like ‘Oh God, I don’t think I want these anymore.”
But she quickly changed her mind: “I was like f**k that. I always saw them as a good thing so I will continue to see them as a good thing.”
In conclusion, she wrote: “Some insecurities are really weird and I love that for us.”
Commenters were behind her when it came to back roll love.
“Back rolls are super underrated,” was the opinion of this person.
This fan also wanted some: “Same. I was straight up and down as a teenager and every other girl was curvy and I felt very unfeminine and got picked on.”
And this viewer was considerably cheered up: “You called them womanly, cuddly, and akin to Renaissance paintings. Thank you for making my day.”
