‘She’s not my kid, she’s my fiance!’ Trolls call me ‘disgusting’ for dating someone 3ft 6 but I don’t care, I love her
LOVE comes in all shapes and sizes, with people generally being more accepting nowadays.
However, Ana Graves says that she’s regularly trolled about her and her fiancé’s height difference – with people even branding them ‘disgusting’.
Ironically though, it wasn’t her that made the first move.
She and fiancé Texie actually met on a photoshoot, with the adult model immediately taking a shine to the make-up artist.
After that chance meeting in 2020, they quickly fell for each other and their relationship rapidly progressed.
“I don’t know what it was, like a spark, but as I touched her hand I was like oh boy,” Texie later confessed to Truly’s Love Don’t Judge.
Despite them dating for three years, people still struggle to accept their relationship though.
Unlike other LGBT+ couples, the backlash isn’t about their sexuality but their height difference.
Standing at just 3″6, Texie suffers from a rare condition, Kenny-Caffey syndrome – which limits her growth and makes her bones extremely brittle.
Heartbreakingly, the pair are often mistaken for relatives whilst out in public as 5″1 Ana towers over her.
“There’s many ways people tend to react when we are out in public together, we get stares, nods, peculiar looks,” she explained to filmmakers.
Ana added: “The reaction that people give you all the time is that she’s my daughter. Or I’m babysitting and that’s definitely not the case.”
Often though, it is Ana that gets the brunt of the backlash – both on social media and in public.
“When people make the comments, well that’s your daughter, I bet you are a pervert [or] there’s something wrong with you, it hurts,” she tearfully admitted, saying: “It makes me upset because it makes me feel like they are hurting you [Texie].”
Thankfully, they have not let the cruel comments they receive stop their relationship progressing.
In fact, Texie revealed that her girlfriend has been her ‘shield’ and provided endless support throughout the last three years.
“You [Ana] never let me struggle in any way shape or form, whether it be physically, emotionally or mentally,” Texie told Truly in a follow up video, adding: “She’s always my backbone.”
The loved up couple have even taken the next step in their relationship, with Ana proposing on New Year’s Eve.
Wedding preparations have already begun with the pair spending afternoons dress shopping together, although sizing can still be an issue.
As they plan for the future, the couple know that they still might face challenges but that they can face them together.
“We’re always going to face judgment. I don’t care who judges me for me loving her,” Ana said, showing just how devoted she is to her fiancé.
With a bond as strong as theirs, we are sure that the couple will have many happy years together.
