‘Frustrated’ woman shares supermarket rules for last minute Christmas food shopping as some say they’ll be going at 5am
A WOMAN has shared what she thinks should be strict rules as shoppers head out to buy last minute Christmas food.
The social media user called Sophie admitted she was “so frustrated” at the thought of how crazy the supermarket aisles would be on the final countdown to Christmas Day – so she decided to give everyone some advice.
Sophie said: “If anyone is going to Tesco or any other supermarket this weekend, just be patient, calm and considerate.”
The 33-year-old then went through all the things people need to bear in mind as they run around trying to get the last-minute essentials for the celebrations.
And she maintained that if everyone followed her rules, things would be a lot easier for all involved.
In a video posted to her TikTok account @sophsingsandthings, she continued: “Don’t take people that don’t need to be there with you.
“If you don’t need to take your children, don’t take your children.
“If you don’t need to take your husband, don’t take your husband.
“The amount of husbands – and not just husbands, all types of people – who are just standing there in the middle of the aisle with a trolley.
“In fact, there was a big row of them waiting for their wife or whoever had wandered 10 aisles down to grab something.”
Her second point was for all supermarket customers to be prepared.
Sophie went on: “Know what you want before you go firstly.
“And if what you want isn’t there when you get there, don’t keep just staring blankly at the shelf for five minutes while there’s people waiting to get into the aisle.
“Just move on and come back and have a look when you’re going back down the shop.”
Trolley etiquette was next on Sophie’s checklist, as she told everyone under no circumstances should they “ram people with your trolley.”
She added: “Everyone just needs to be patient, literally just wait.
“No one’s in a rush – well , you shouldn’t go to Tesco in peak times if you’re in a rush. So just wait.”
After branding some supermarket shoppers as “so rude” due to recent behaviour, Sophie reminded her 27.5k followers that it takes nothing to “be considerate and patient.”
And fellow TikTok users were quick to have their say on how they’re doing their shopping – with some confessing that they’ve set their alarms to beat the crowds in their local town.
One person wrote: “We are shopping at 5am with a shopping list. Oh, and my husband as he’s paying for it.”
While a second social media user who worked at a supermarket also joined the conversation as they wrote: “I work at Tesco and it’s been absolute mayhem! People are going on family outings to the supermarket.”
