Chocolate lovers fume as they notice a major change to Maltesers just days before Christmas
CHOCOLATE lovers are fuming as they notice a major change to Maltesers just days before Christmas.
So if you’ve nabbed yourself a box of the sweet treats and are looking forward to cracking them open on December 25th, you’ll need to listen up.
One food fan was left stunned when she opened her box of Maltesers, only to notice something different about the chocolate treats.
Annoyed at her find, Anita Armstrong took to social media to alert other shoppers.
Posting on Bargains Lovers – Poundland, Home Bargains, B&M, Primark, The Range, a public Facebook group with a whopping 84.1k members, Anita shared a picture of her sweet snack and claimed that the chocolates were all different sizes.
She wrote: “Haven’t bought Maltesers since last Christmas and I’ve just opened the box to find they’re all different sizes.”
She then asked: “When did this happen?
“They always used to be the same size.
“Shocking.”
Anita later claimed that she thought the Maltesers had been made differently too, as she remarked: “Definitely thinner chocolate.”
Anita shared her post just 11 hours ago, but it has quickly caused a lot of discussion online, with many food fans stunned at the finding.
Many claimed that they too had noticed this change and were not happy about it.
One person said: “How dare they!”
Another added: “I noticed this too and i thought chocolate was [a] thinner layer as well and I eat a lot [of] Maltesers but boxed type deffo thinner chocolate.”
However, a third commented: “I’ve noticed that myself. Also the chocolate is thicker and the malt balls smaller and not so malty.”
At the same time, one foodie wrote: “My last box was like that.”
Another annoyed customer penned: “It’s disgusting what they’ve done to our sweets and they have the cheek to put up the prices.”
Whilst someone else chimed in: “I thought the same .. they used to be perfectly round and all the same size .. now they like misfits ..”
Meanwhile, one chocolate fan even claimed: “They don’t taste like they used to.”
However, one user shared: “I wouldn’t even have noticed that as I’d have just inhaled the lot!”
