I woke up the morning after my work Christmas party to an email from HR – I made it out alive but now it’s on my record
HE had a great time at his work Christmas party.
But Patrick’s mood following the bash quickly changed when he received an email from his HR department.
“I am contacting you from the HR department regarding reports of your behaviour at our recent Christmas party,” the email read.
“These reports are concerning and require an immediate discussion.
“Please attend a mandatory meeting on Monday at 9am in the office.
“This meeting is to address the behaviour in question and its implication under our company policy.
“It is crucial that you attend this meeting.
“Failure to not comply may result in further action.”
“I’ve got a wife and kids you can’t do this,” Patrick captioned the TikTok video.
And people in the comments section were quick to weigh in on Patrick’s video, with many admitting they’d found themselves in similar situations in the past.
“This literally just happened to me last weekend at my work Christmas party. I got blinddd,” one wrote.
“I got arrested at my husbands work Christmas Party…. HR was the one who decided I’d be that years victim and purposely fed me the alcohol,” another admitted.
“The amount of disciplinary meeting invitation I had to send in after our work Christmas party this year was insane,” a third commented.
“I think something like 70% of HR incidents happen at work Christmas parties,” someone else wrote.
“Why do we still have them?”
“I was sacked from a job because of what happened at the Christmas party – still trying to recover from it,” another added.
“I just don’t understand why people can’t act like adults and understand the situations they are in!” someone else wrote.
As another commented: “Can you imagine the anxiety over the weekend, waiting for Monday morning to come around?!!
Patrick returned to TikTok to share a video detailing the email he’d received after the meeting, which read: “Following our meeting concerning your behaviour at the Christmas party, we have decided to issue a written warning.
“This warning will be kept on your personnel record.”
“Made it out alive!” Patrick captioned the clip.
“Man if you still on the payroll after the christmas party then you did good,” one person commented on that video.
As another added: “Karen Jones is the most HR worker name I’ve ever heard!”
“So a ‘written warning’ is literally just that spelled in bold? No mention of what to do,” a third mused.
