‘Easy peasy’ festive sausages rolls are a must this Christmas – they use up all the leftovers & cooked in the air fryer
AT this time of year, it’s easy to feel like there are not enough hours in the day – especially as there less than a month till Christmas Day.
Thankfully, one food vlogger has shared her recipe for easy festive sausage rolls – which combines some of the best bits from a classic Christmas dinner.
Rather than going to Greggs, you can stay cosy at home with this delicious recipe.
You also won’t even have to spend hours rolling out pastry as influencer Becky recommends using store bought pre-made, meaning you’ll save even more time making these treats.
Taking to Tiktok, the foodie influencer showed how she also used a regular six pack of sausage for her filling and began by gently removing the skin.
If you are unsure about how to do this, simply score the line down the sausages with a sharp knife and the skin should start to peel away.
Once this is done, make a small batch of stuffing by emptying the sachet in a bowl and add boiling water – as directed by the packet.
At this stage, you can also add a small knob of butter to the mix for extra flakey pastry.
Add the sausage meat to the mix with a large spoon or fork, which should stop any clumps forming.
You can then leave to this stand for five minutes, whilst you prep your pastry.
Just roll out your puff pastry on flat surface and then it’s time for the best bit: the fillings.
Whilst there are many classic Christmas condiments you could use, Becky decides to spread a generous layer of cranberry sauce in the center of her pastry.
Having levelled it with the back of a spoon, she then layers the adds her meat and sausage mix.
As if these sausage rolls weren’t festive enough, the content creator then adds sliced brie before rolling up her pastry.
If you aren’t ready for the Bake Off tent just yet, you can make the rolling process smoother by gently pulling on the attached baking paper as you go – which should give you some extra support.
You can then trim the ends of of the sausage roll with a sharp knife and cut the remainder in to equal parts.
You can then pop the sausage rolls in a oven tray lined with baking paper, just remember to space them out evenly.
Prep-heat the oven to 180 degree and given the pastry a quickly wash with egg yolk before baking them.
Unlike traditional sausage rolls, Becky also adds a sprinkle of paprika and sesame seeds for a little extra crunch before cooking.
Bake for 30 mins at 180 degrees and you should end up with sausage rolls that are worthy of a Paul Hollywood handshake.
Unsurprisingly, the content creator’s Christmassy recipe has gone viral and rapidly gained over 1.3 million views on Tiktok.
Many of her followers have also tested Becky’s sausage rolls, with one gushing: “I made these and they are 10/10!!! Amazing recipe thank you!”
We would also highly recommend the wintry recipe too.
