Pete Wicks reveals heartbreaking reason he spends Christmas alone ‘watching Only Fools And Horses with the dogs’
PETE Wicks has opened up about his Christmas day plans – which include spending it alone ‘watching Only Fools And Horses with the dogs’.
The former Towie star, 35, was recently in Australia supporting best pal Sam Thompson for I’m A Celebrity – but is now back in the UK ready for the festive celebrations.
However he’s not a huge fan of it all.
Pete said: “I’m so glad I’ve been away and missed most of the build up to Christmas.
“The day itself is fine, but the build up before and the month after is awful.
“Too much before, and after it you just feel a little blue.
“For me, I’ve missed all the build up which is great – but then there’s the panic buying of presents.”
He added to The Mirror: “I normally spend Christmas on my own, with the dogs. I find it a heavy, heavy day.
“I always go and see my mum in the morning and then I generally just sit with the dogs and watch Only Fools And Horses.
“I’ve got my reasons! That is pretty much my Christmas, job done. You can’t beat the classics, I love the Royle Family too. A bit of Christmas TV with the dogs, living the dream.”
During his time Down Under, Pete had a blast hanging out with the I’m A Celeb cast’s family and friends.
He was spotted on boozy night out with Hollyoaks’ Nick Pickard’s girlfriend and the rest of the gang.
The hunk also grew close to EastEnders’ Danielle Harold when she was voted out of the jungle.
The pair were also pictured cosying up together at the I’m A Celebrity wrap party.
Meanwhile Pete has also been one of the stars of this year’s The Real Full Monty on Channel 4.
Him and a number of other celebrities got their kit off to raise awareness of the need to check for signs of cancer.
However there was one unlikely guest in the audience.
He revealed to Heatworld, when asked whether his mum was in the front row: “I think it was more awkward for her than it was for me.
“She got slapped around the chops with a bollock.”
