Woman transforms grotty oven using £3.50 Asda product – it looks brand new with ZERO scrubbing
A HOME whizz has shared how she transforms her oven from grimey to glistening with ZERO scrubbing.
Robyn Stanley assured that her method requires “no elbow grease at all” – just a bargain product from the supermarket.
To slice the time scrubbing the bottom of her oven, she uses disposable oven liners that get binned every time it gets cleaned.
Once binned, she’s able to work on removing the grease from her oven door, racks and walls.
Robyn’s secret weapon for not using any elbow grease is a £3.49 product from Asda – the cheapest on the high-street.
The Oven Pride Deep Oven Cleaner contains Sodium Hydroxide – a highly corrosive chemical that’s able to cut through the grease and grime on the oven.
“This stuff is absolutely brilliant,” Robyn said.
“But trust me, wear gloves – this stuff burns like a m**********r.”
Sharing a tutorial on TikTok, Robyn rubbed the product on her oven door with her gloved-up hands and advised to leave it to work for 20 minutes.
She then used a filling knife to scrape the built up grime and grease off the oven door – and the before-and-after comparison was a cleaning fanatic’s dream.
For trays and racks, Oven Pride provides bags to pop them in with the solution so that you don’t have to scrub.
“Rinsing everything in the shower will make it 100 times easier,” Robyn recommended.
Professional cleaners and fanatics alike took to the comments of her video to affirm her method.
“I love Oven Pride,” one said. “I’ve used it in all the houses I’ve rented over the years.
“It gives a professional clean as long as you do all the external bits and leave extra long.”
But some warned about how strong the solution is – urging people to ensure they don’t touch it with their bare skin or accidentally spill some.
“Be careful with Oven Pride on your worktops,” one homeowner warned. “It burnt a hole in my quartz worktop.”
“This stuff burnt through my wood so be careful!” another echoed.
