Pilot reveals ‘cup of tea’ trick to calm passengers scared of turbulence
A PILOT shows passengers that there is nothing to worry about for those who are scared of turbulence when flying.
A pilot blogger who goes by Pilot Flood has posted on Instagram what happens to the plane when it goes through turbulence.
Filming a cup of tea during light turbulence you can see it shake around but passengers have nothing to fear.
The pilot said: “We have some light turbulence and according to the PFD the aircraft is maintaining its speed and altitude perfectly – that’s lovely.”
The purpose of the video is to calm nervous flyers and show although turbulence feels terrifying it doesn’t affect the aircraft as you may think.
The Pilot’s Instagram has over 28,000 followers and is dedicated to showing different parts of what it is like to be a pilot.
Later on in the video explains how turbulence “is quite common with changes in wind speed, direction and outside temperature”.
However, those who follow the pilot’s Instagram still didn’t seem comfortable with the idea of turbulence.
One viewer wrote: “Turbulence scares me to death.”
Another wrote: “I don’t like turbulence even though everyone says it safe.”
To answer some of these fears the pilot responded to these comments by saying: “Imagine the plane is suspended in jelly.
“Does it sink or wobble?”
However, he was not able to convince all of his viewers with one writing: “I’m still convinced the turbulence is going to make us fall out of the sky.”
