I’m a dumpster diver and am constantly drowning in all the tasty treats I find – I’m never buying food or drinks again
THERE’S no denying that food prices have shot up in recent years.
But one woman has revealed exactly how she nabs her food shopping for free – only, her rather unusual method isn’t for everyone.
Sofie spends her evenings rummaging through bins in the hope of hitting the jackpot and stocking her fridge for the coming weeks.
And after sharing the results of her latest dive, it’s fair to say, her findings are pretty impressive.
In a clip posted to TikTok (@dumpsterdivingwsoff), she can be seen looking inside a humongous black bin that’s filled to the brim with products.
They’re presumably either close to their expiry date, or have just been thrown out by supermarkets for one reason or another.
Amongst the goodies include loaves of bread, wafer thin ham and oranges.
And not forgetting a little something to wash it all down with…
Sofie can be seen looking delighted as she beams alongside three crates of Pilsner beer and two 20 packs of Pepsi that have also been discarded of.
“POV: You are a dumpster diver and you are constantly drowning in food and drinks,” she says.
Taking her findings back home, she shows just how much she has managed to nab dumpster diving by lining up her cans of drink on the tops of her cupboards.
She also shows off inside her fridge which is jam-packed with everything from orange juice to Apro milk and condiments.
For those with a sweet tooth, Sofie also managed to get hold of some custard pastries – and there’s no doubt she won’t have to worry about doing another dumpster dive anytime soon.
Opening her freezer door, she struggles to fit any more food inside.
“Send help please!” she jokes.
Sofie captioned the post: “I’m never buying food or drinks again!! It never stops to amaze me, how much good food and how many delicious drinks are being wasted EVERY SINGLE DAY!!
“I’m literally drowning in drinks and food…”
The post has since gone viral, racking up thousands of views and several comments from social media users.
“I also dumpster dive and my freezer is the same,” wrote one.
Sofie replied: “It’s crazy!”
A second enthused: “Great idea!”
A third penned: “Wow amazing!”
And a fourth added: “I want this!”
