I turned my lorry into a tiny home to save cash… it’s got all the mod cons but trolls reckon it looks like a prison van
A MAN who has turned his lorry into a tiny home for him and his kids has insisted it was unintentional that it ended up looking like a prison van.
The dad has saved himself getting a house, and therefore a mortgage, by converting the Iveco Eurocargo lorry into a comfortable abode – complete with all the mod cons.
In a video on TikTok, he shared a “whistlestop tour” of the lorry, lovingly called Tilly, as he said it’s not far off being completely finished.
On the outside, the black windows alongside the white van give it a certain look, which people have been quick to comment on the videos.
Heading inside, he showed off the “king-size bed that’s being built with a wardrobe at the end”.
There’s a washing machine under the bed, as well as air conditioning and even underfloor heating.
There’ll be a full-size fridge freezer, as well as a marble toilet and shower room.
And there’s a tonne of storage too.
He’s made bunk beds for his kids, complete with their own window, as he added: “They are really excited to have their windows in there, and they cannot wait to go on adventures!”
“Starting to come together looks amazing,” one person commented on the video.
“Looking fantastic!!” another said.
“Where do you all sit if its a 3 seater?” a third asked.
With the man responding: “It’s a 3 seater, but it’s only going to be me and the two kids”.
“Tidy build, cracking job!” someone else praised.
But another person pointed out the clear similarity between Tilly’s appearance and that of a prison van, writing: “The outside reminds me of one of those prison vans!”
“You’re definitely not the first person to say that,” he responded in antoher video.
“It was never my intention to make it look like a prison transport lorry but that’s just how it’s turned out with the black and white theme.
“I really like it personally and I think it’s great that everyone’s getting involved and putting their opinions across!”
He also said that when he’s added all the bits he wants to, it will set Tilly apart from a normal prison van.
“All the better if it does look like one, surely nobody is ever going to try and break into a prison van,” one person pointed out.
To which he replied: “That’s my theory!”
“Is this instead of buying a house?” another asked.
With the dad responding: “It is indeed!”
