I suffered from bald patches so tried a 3p hack to get my hair to grow back – it really stinks but is so effective
A WOMAN has shared an unusual method of getting hair to grow back.
Ariba Pervaiz shared her hair regrowth hack via a video posted to her TikTok channel @ariba_p.
The mum of three often uses the account to share haircare tips and tricks.
Ariba’s video’s are very popular with social media users and she has racked up over 70,000 followers on the video sharing platform.
The haircare whizz revealed in the video that she had found a bald patch in her hair, which she had named ‘Steve”.
In order to try and get the hair to grow back, she tried using a clove of garlic.
Ariba took a clove, cut it in half and stuck a toothpick into it.
She then rubbed it onto her hair for about “20 minutes”.
“Yes, it smells, go and wash your hair after”, she said.
Ariba said that since she started to use the garlic method, her hair has begun to grow back.
“It burns a bit, but I’m finding it really effective”, she said.
Garlic is super cheap and can be purchased from the supermarket for as little as 20p.
Trichologist Eva Proudman told Fabulous: “Garlic contains sulphuric acid and is high in vitamins and minerals such as Vitamin B6, which is essential for maintaining the health of the hair and scalp whilst also supporting hair growth. Vitamin C, manganese and selenium all promote healthy hair but are not a proven treatment for hair loss.
“The sulphuric acid contained in garlic is antimicrobial and anti -fungal so can help prevent flaky itchy scalps, too. The antioxidants in garlic may also prevent damage to the hair follicles caused by free radicals (which might, for example, be caused by exposure to the sun).”
However, Eva warned; “Please don’t just rub raw garlic onto your scalp as this can actually cause chemical burns and may have an adverse reaction if the skin on the scalp is particularly sensitive. I would advise adding more garlic to your diet rather than using it topically.
“My advice before doing anything or you start trying out any so-called ‘trends’ (however natural or organic it might seem) is to seek an accurate diagnosis from a qualified trichologist. Once you understand the causes of your individual hair loss or shedding, you can better understand your treatment options.”
Ariba’s video has clearly left many impressed, as it has racked up an impressive 4.1 million view.
TikTok users raced to the video’s comments section to share their thoughts on Ariba’s hack.
