Nintendo fans devastated over fresh Switch 2 release date rumour
NINTENDO’S latest console set for launch in 2024 is rumoured to be delayed until early 2025, upsetting fans across the globe.
Several sources have reported Nintendo’s decision to push back the launch date is to ensure the Switch 2 features as many titles as possible upon its release, according to Eurogamer.
The popular gaming console was meant to be released later this year, seven years after the first Switch was released.
The move to the other side of Christmas into early 2025 gives the company more time to improve the console while maintaining the “financial benefits of the Switch 2’s launch within Nintendo’s upcoming financial calendar”.
Nintendo only has a handful of games still set to release for the existing Switch in 2024.

However, Nintendo’s president, Shuntaro Furukawa, dubbed these reports as merely “rumours”.
Nintendo and gaming fans alike were devasted at the news of waiting another year for the Switch 2’s release.
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, people voiced their disappointment.
One user wrote: “At this point, I’d believe the Wii phone to release before this Switch 2.”
However, a few pointed out that it is better to wait for the gaming company to add more games and improve the user experience.
“So you wanted a rushed product?” a person commented.
They added: “I think this is better for everybody.”
Another said: “Better to wait for a great product.
“Then to release a Sonic 06.”
