We’re Coronation Street superfans and have figured out what every house smells like – and some of them are VILE
CORONATION Street superfans have managed to ‘work out’ just what some of the houses on the cobbles smell like and some of them are truly awful.
Viewers of the ITV soap opera have been left pondering over the different peculiar scents to come from the various Weatherfield properties.
Whilst some houses come off rather lightly, many of them got a less than impressive review from the show’s loyal viewers.
It is safe to say that many Coronation Street viewers have deduced that Ken and the Barlow clan live in stink and filth.
Thanks to years of Deidre Barlow’s cigarette-smoking in the house, one fan firmly declared that the house must “stink”.
Commenting on the presumed odour, one inquisitive fan said: “I’m sure it smells like decades of heaving smoking and if you wiped a wet white cloth on the wall it would turn yellow.”
Another echoed: “You can just tell the carpets and wallpaper probably still stinks from all the fags Deidre smoked.”
Whilst another remarked that it smelt “like yesterday’s cooking and old furniture”.
Having discussed the stench of number 1, talk among fans quickly turned to what some of the other Weartherfield properties smelt like.
Thankfully, house proud Sally Metcalfe can be rest assured that all the hard work she has put into her property has paid off with many viewers giving her home a grand review.
Discussing its scent, one said: “Sally’s house looks like it smells clean and fresh.”
Someone else added in agreement: “Sally’s smells of potpourri and yoga mists.”
Elsewhere, Gail’s family home got a somewhat mixed review as one fan bluntly said that the Platt house smelled like “fabric softener & the odd fart”.
Going into even more depth, the amount of children in Gemma and Chesney’s home gave good reason for the “nappy” stench coming from their living room whilst businessman Dev found his home filled with “cheap” aromas.
Another superfan concluded: “I think Chesney’s house smells like dirty nappies and cheap perfume.
“That Dev’s smells like chips and a mix of cheap perfume and colonge that has a cheap smell no matter how expensive it actually is. Tyrone’s smells like wet dog and dirty socks mixed with diesel and oil.”
Before another penned: “I always think Chesney smells of sour milk and drug store after shave.”
It sounds like Sally’s house is the best place for the Weatherfield lot to head if they want to avoid the criminal odours!
