I live in an RV & my home gets searched by border patrol when I go to Canada, it’s violating when they move my stuff
AN RV owner has shared her experience getting searched as she crossed the Canadian border.
Even though she knew it was a “normal” procedure, she said it still felt “violating.”
Vanessa shared her experience of having her RV searched as she entered Canada[/caption]Vanessa (@nomaddiaries) shared the travel experience in a TikTok video.
As she crossed the border, she explained that both of her tiny homes were inspected.
“We made it to Canada. Both Harveys got searched and I’ve never been searched before,” she said.
“Let me tell you right now, it feels violating. I know it’s a normal thing every time you go through customs, there’s the chance that you’re going to get searched.”
Vanessa, however, wasn’t fully prepared for the extent of the process.
“They touched my stuff and it’s out of place,” she said.
She showed off a pile of belongings that she had thought had been safely secured.
“This was hidden which blows my mind and the key is somewhere else in the house,” she said.
“Instead of putting this back, he just left it and left it unlocked and then put the key right back where he found it.”
She was astounded by the mess she found after the inspection, showing off drawers of things strewn about her RV.
“I have an entire drawer full of things that I put in my body,” she said, showing off her dresser.
“The idea of a random person being in here and rummaging through that and seeing all of the things that I have makes me physically ill.
“I cleaned yesterday and my house is a f**king mess. What? Just grossed out.”
People shared their heartfelt condolences in the comments.
“I hope he steps on Legos 20 times a day,” said one commenter.
“Yeah, I know the feeling. The ick feeling,” said another.
“My house was robbed once and it was a terrible feeling. But you made it safely! Time to clean.”
“Canadian customs is the worst. They go through everything,” agreed a third.
