I gave my grubby garden fence a stylish transformation using a £7 bargain buy – people say it’s ‘absolutely gorgeous’
WITH Easter been and gone and the clocks going forward, the lighter evenings are finally upon us – and hopefully the warmer weather isn’t far behind.
But following a wet and windy winter, chances are your garden fence is looking a little worse for wear and in desperate need of some TLC.
Well, no fear…because one savvy homeowner named Janice has revealed how she gave her tired-looking fence a complete stylish makeover using a £7 bargain buy.
And the results are very impressive, with her garden looking much lighter and fresher following the simple DIY project.
In a video shared to TikTok, she shared a glimpse of her “silver grey weathered” fence which she confessed she’d had for “so long.”
But rather than fork out a small fortune on replacing it, she instead totally transformed the look of her outdoor haven using nothing but a lick of of paint.
“Love this paint colour. It’s @Ronseal UK & Ireland Warm stone garden paint,” she penned.
“We already had the black paint for the slats.”
The paint, which starts at £7.42 for 250ml in B&Q, is designed to add colour to the whole garden, and not just on wood, and can also be used on the likes of metal, terracotta, brick and stone.
The online product description reads: “It adds colour, waterproofs and improves water repellency.
“Its high solid content leads to a high film build and longer lasting protection.
In fact, Janice was so delighted with the results, she revealed that she was debating painting her pergola the same colour this year, too.
The video has since gone viral, racking up a whopping 95k views and several comments from extremely complementary homeowners.
“It looks fabulous,” praised one.
A second penned: “Such an incredible transformation – looks absolutely gorgeous!”
“I would be happy with a garden like that!” a third commented.
Meanwhile, a fourth enthused: “Beautiful!”
