Drama Queens viewers baffled as Coronation Street actress appears in new soap reality show – despite exit five years ago
DRAMA Queens viewers were left baffled at one star who signed up to appear on the brand new ITV reality show.
The programme chronicles the real lives of nine of the UK’s leading soap women in a television first.
For the first time, fans of the programme’s different soaps get a peek behind the scenes amid all the chaos that comes with being a part of Britain’s biggest shows.
Faces from Coronation Street, Emmerdale, EastEnders and Hollyoaks have let the cameras into their lives for the show but one cast member has raised eyebrows with some fans.
Although the ITVBe programme aims to show the stars as the juggle busy filming days on the soap with motherhood and family life, viewers were quick to call out one actress who hadn’t appeared in soap for five years.
Ex-Coronation Street star Brooke Vincent is among the nine ladies despite quitting the show in 2019.
She played the role of Sophie Webster for 15 years after joining the cast as a child in 2004.
It left fans questioning the decision to include the 31-year-old despite the fact she is no longer affiliated with the Manchester-based soap.
Taking to X – formerly Twitter – one fan wrote: “Obsessed with Brooke Vincent sneaking her way into this “behind the scenes of soap actresses” show when she hasn’t been in Corrie for 5 years.”
As another furiously added: “She’s a con artist.”
Brooke appeared during the first episode of the ITVBe show briefly as she supported former co-star and real life cousin Ellie Leach.
She headed to see her as she performed in Manchester at the AO Arena on the Strictly Come Dancing live tour.
Brooke and Ellie had a heart-to-heart as the Strictly champ thanked her older cousin for all the support she had shown her during her rise to fame.
Brooke told Ellie: “I’m just proud of you and proud of everything you’ve had to bat off to get to this position.
“I also say, it’s kind of like you’ve just gone off to uni and evolved in some weird kind of way and now you are just this whole new version of yourself.”
The Sophie Webster star is expected to show more of her life throughout the series as she welcomes the cameras into the home she shares with her two young children and partner Kean Bryan, a former Manchester City and Sheffield United footballer.
During an appearance on Loose Women, the actress revealed she was keen to show that soap stars don’t live glamorous lives and to show how she manages to juggle looking after her two young sons while navigating a return to acting work.
