Beloved ITV star saved as they return to screens for daytime cooking series after TWO of their shows are axed
A BELOVED ITV star is returning to screens with his daytime cooking series after two of his shows were axed.
Gino D’Acampo will return to the broadcaster’s schedules with his self-titled show Gino’s Italy.
The TV chef, 47, has been handed a second series by ITV execs after the show’s first outing in 2022.
It sees Gino explore his native country as he celebrates the women who have fed his fellow Italians through the years.
During the show viewers watched as the star also returned to his birthplace Torre Del Greco.
Website TV Zone report this series will consist of just five hour-long episodes after The Sun confirmed its return last year.
It comes after we exclusively revealed how Gino had dramatically quit his travel series with Gordan Ramsay and Fred Sirieix.
Gino shocked fans when he confirmed the news, blaming “contractual complications” at the time for his departure.
Meanwhile, The Sun also revealed last year how ITV bosses had canned Gino’s Cooking Up Love.

Set in Sardinia, the show’s sole aim was to help singletons find romance through food.
Gino had fronted two pilot episodes which were broadcast but it was ultimately scrapped.
A source said at the time: “There were meaningful discussions about commissioning further episodes, but ultimately it was decided to ditch the concept.”
