Foodies go wild as ice lollies based on popular kid’s sweet land in Aldi’s freezers…they’re great for summer & 34p a pop
FOOD fans are legging it to their local Aldi after spotting new flavoured ice lollies in the freezer aisles.
The much-loved retailer, often praised for its epic middle aisle Specialbuys, has now left shoppers beaming with the new ice lolly offerings.
So if you’re a fan of sour flavours, and as a child loved to eat Toxic Waste sweets, then you’ve come to the right place.
The ‘hazardously sour’ sweets are now available in two different flavours of ice lollies – sour lemon and lime with strawberry slime and blue raspberry with strawberry slime.
The chain took to Instagram to announce that the ice lollies had ‘just landed’, leaving many open-mouthed.
Posting on the supermarket’s official social media account, under the username @aldiuk, the chain penned: “Tantalise your taste buds with these bold and tangy Toxic Waste ice lollies.”
Following this, Aldi questioned: “Available in an electrifying Blue Raspberry and Lemon & Lime flavour – are you bold enough to handle the sourness?”
And you’ll be thrilled to know that they’re super affordable too, as the post continued: “Pick them up on the freezer aisle now for just £1.69.”
At just £1.69 for a box of five, these sour lollies, which are perfect for summer, work out at less than 34p a pop.
Aldi later wrote: “A summer essential. Grab a box in store now.”
Aldi’s post has clearly impressed many, as it has quickly amassed almost 2,000 likes and over 100 comments in less than 24 hours.
Food fans were ecstatic over the new-in buys and many took to the comments to express this.

How can I save money on my supermarket shop?
THERE are plenty of ways to save on your grocery shop.
You can look out for yellow or red stickers on products, which show when they’ve been reduced.
If the food is fresh, you’ll have to eat it quickly or freeze it for another time.
Making a list should also save you money, as you’ll be less likely to make any rash purchases when you get to the supermarket.
Going own brand can be one easy way to save hundreds of pounds a year on your food bills too.
This means ditching “finest” or “luxury” products and instead going for “own” or value” type of lines.
Plenty of supermarkets run wonky veg and fruit schemes where you can get cheap prices if they’re misshapen or imperfect.
For example, Lidl runs its Waste Not scheme, offering boxes of 5kg of fruit and vegetables for just £1.50.
If you’re on a low income and a parent, you may be able to get up to £442 a year in Healthy Start vouchers to use at the supermarket too.
Plus, many councils offer supermarket vouchers as part of the Household Support Fund.
At the same time, many tagged their friends and loved ones to alert them to these new products.
One mother tagged a loved one and claimed: “I bet the kids would like these!”
A second alerted an Aldi shopper and advised: “Get some of these.”
Meanwhile, another bargain hunter mentioned an Instagram user and penned: “We need to go to Aldi.”
