‘Can’t watch anymore!’ rage The Cuckoo viewers as they rip into ‘letdown, far-fetched’ Jill Halfpenny thriller
THE Cuckoo viewers were left utterly enraged as they ripped into the new Jill Halfpenny thriller.
Channel 5 previously made a shake-up of their schedule as they made moves to accommodate the new drama.
As the commercial network aired the latest episode, it seems viewers have been left far from impressed.
On the most recent instalment, Alice (Freya Hannan-Mills) had become engrossed by Sian’s (Jill Halfpenny) manipulation plot.
She also lied to Jessica (Claire Goose) about her childhood, telling her about her parents lack of care.
Meanwhile Fay (Marjorie Yate) was caught up in an argument with Sian about family history.
Sian was quickly asked to leave the property but she managed to sneak a key into her pocket.
Nick was then arrested after Sian falsely claimed to the police that he had hit her as Jessica watched on.
However, viewers took to X – formerly known as Twitter in their droves as they slammed the “far fetched” plot lines.
One viewer fumed: “Absolute load of rubbish. I have watched for approx 10 mins each night, then switched off as no improvement. Not a bad cast, but stupid, predictable storyline.”
“The Cuckoo is the most stupid drama I’ve ever watched, and that’s a high bar #thecuckoo,” said a second.
As a third wrote: “This is so far fetched and overacted – why am I still watching it #thecuckoo.”
“I’ve never hated a mini series so much as I hate #TheCuckoo. Omg the storyline is wrecking my head. I really hope they don’t make another one but if they do I won’t watch it,” raged a fourth fan.
Meanwhile, another posted: “Absurd story… As if the daughter would run off with a total stranger after 1 week, particularly after she witnessed her assault her mother of 16 years. And that’s the least ludicrous proposition. #thecuckoo”
Whilst a sixth fan noted: “I realise it was done for the sake of the drama so that Jess would come across the bullies & discover that Sian had threatened them, but going to the school in person rather than phoning to tell them Alice would be absent was ridiculous & contrived – not believable.
And a seventh added: “It’s all a bit far-fetched isn’t it #TheCuckoo”.
