BBC confirms return of beloved comedy series with Taskmaster and Sanditon stars
THE BBC has confirmed the return of its beloved comedy series as filming kicks off.
The broadcaster has green lit Cheaters with Taskmaster and Sanditon stars reprising their characters.
Susan Wokoma is back to lead the cast as Jack Fox, Joshua McGuire and Callie Cookie all return.
Cheaters series one saw Susan’s character Fola cheat with Josh (Joshua) after their flight was delayed.
Viewers watched as the pair flew back to the UK only to realise they were new neighbours.
But now in series two, the pair’s relationship blossoms and Fola’s divorce from her husband Zack, who is played by Jack Fox, progresses.
A teaser for the second instalment reads: “After the adrenaline of their affair, Josh and Fola’s relationship has blossomed, and they’re closer than ever.
“But with her divorce from Zack not even finalised, Fola is keen to take things slow – not exactly Josh’s speed. Josh is a ball of anxiety when it comes to the tough conversations, and he finds himself going to extreme (and unwise) lengths to ‘give her some space’.
“Meanwhile, with Zack quietly determined to win Fola back, and Josh’s scorned ex-girlfriend Esther returning from her travels at long last, the stage is set for some big decisions on all sides.
“Can a relationship that started as an affair ever transcend its messy beginnings?”
The Beeb hasn’t confirmed when the new series of Cheaters will air but it will broadcast on BBC One in a prime time slot.
Meanwhile, the first series of the drama is available to stream now on iPlayer.
The BBC also confirmed how its crime drama Blue Lights will return this month with its highly anticipated second series.
It follows three rookie police officers working with the PSNI in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
The first series aired this time last year, and its second outing is set to return to BBC One on Monday, April 15 at 9pm.
