I made a 5-minute garden bed without using any tools – I use a ‘puzzle’ method that is super cheap and easy
WHO needs tools when one easy trick can upgrade your backyard.
One gardening pro made her own garden bed using a simple technique.
In a viral video, Hannah (@hannahs.herbs) knew just how to put the pieces together to complete her easy “puzzle” method.
The best part is it only takes five minutes to get your own budget bed.
For a smaller garden up to six inches, you’ll want to stock up on four affordable items from Lowe’s.
For $3.98 each, using Oldcastle tan concrete retaining wall blocks will save you from having to use any type of tool.
Each block is eight inches by six inches by eight inches.
The blocks are described as being able to slide easily into wooden boards to create a wall or border.
They are also completely garden-safe and may vary in weight, texture, and dimension.
The buy had plenty of satisfied purchasers.
“I actually liked this so much that I bought another four of these. They are so simple to use and not a bad price either – not so heavy that I can’t pick them up easily,” wrote one customer.
“It’s so easy to make garden beds or raised beds for a fraction of the cost of a “pro” doing it,” said another satisfied buyer.
For gardens up to 12 inches high, make sure to add eight blocks to your cart.
Just don’t leave your local hardware store without a couple of two-by-ten boards with two feet cut off at the end of each board.
Your grand total shouldn’t come to more than $50.
Some fans even had garden tips of their own.
“I made mine this way too except I used the cedar fence slats – only 3.98 each,” said one follower.
“The best wood to use for raised gardens is kiln-dried wood because it prevents any rotting and bugs don’t mess with it,” said another viewer.
Whatever you use, make sure each paver is placed at the corners of where you want them to go.
There is no playing games with this next crucial part – carefully placing the wood like a puzzle.
For extra tall beds, simply stack up your pavers.
All that’s left to do is add some soil – and get your gardening on.
Others shared additional tricks they had up their lawn-improving sleeves.
“You can also put rebar poles in the middle of each corner to add more stability and attach trellises onto!” said one follower.

“We did this but stained the wood dark and painted the blocks black,” a third watcher chimed in.
The boards can also be reused.
Feel free to move them around to another spot next season.
Still, others could attest to this time and money-saving technique.
“I did this for all my garden beds! It’s great that you can also replace boards easily,” said one follower.
